National Forest Inventory Field Campaign Launched

The national forest inventory field campaign has officially launched, deploying trained survey teams to permanent sample plots across all eighteen participating districts. Over the next six months, teams will measure tree diameter, height, and species composition following standardized protocols, generating the ground-truth data required to calibrate satellite-based carbon stock models. The campaign represents the largest coordinated forest measurement effort undertaken by the Forest Department to date.
